26.1 Words of the Prophet
Six years had passed since time the Muslims of Mecca had emigrated to Medina and much had occurred in these years. Islam had grown and spread throughout the entire peninsula up to the borders of Syria and Iraq. Revelations from Allah continued to reach men and teach them how to live, and the Muslims cherished these verses. Some studied them by heart and some wrote them on parchment, bone, or wood. There were men who knew by heart every single verse of the Koran, men who sat with the Messenger daily and discussed with him every topic that they could think of. Mohamed explained and gave examples in his own words of the teachings of the Koran.
